Literary Response

Here are some ways that I connected with Melody the most in the book “Out of my Mind.”I connect with  Melody the most because she teaches the reader that it’s okay to be different.Like whenever she got the meditalker because she can’t talk, and that also teaches us that you can solve any problems that come your way. Therefore, everybody has some kind of “disability.” I can’t see clearly so I got glasses. “Your teeth are messed up,so your parents bought you braces.Be glad that’s the only thing wrong with you, some people have it worse!”She also reaches out to the reader and  teaches us that being different is okay.I connect with her on that because everyone has something that they can’t do,and she overcomes that..She is a disabled child who got a meditalker to talk and now she has a non-disabled friend named Rose and she is allowed to take tests with all the “normal” students in fifth grade instead of learning the dumb alphabet over and over again with room H5 but instead taking tests like a non-disabled child without any help from a teacher or an aid! Those are some reasons that I connected the most with Melody in the story “Out of my Mind.”
